Summer Time

*The heat is on! It's summer time!!! Here are some simple ways to stay cool and fun. Summer fun doesn't have to be expensive. :D
Found this cool site that can help you enjoy summer season. I just added some images on it.. Read on.... enjoy! :)

1. Read.

Keep current with the news, or crack open that great novel you've been meaning to read. Browse your local library or a used bookstore for interesting and unique finds that you won't see on the shelf of the mega-bookstores.

2. Do some gardening.

Start an herb garden, or grow your own fruits and vegetables. Not only are home grown foods healthy, but they can save you money as well. Or, plant some flowers and watch them bloom. You'll have fre

sh flowers all summer long!

3. Go fly a kite.

Or blow some bubbles. Or have a squirt gun war--anything that lets your inner child come out to play. Buy a kiddie pool, fill it up with water and ice cubes, slather on some SPF, and lounge around poolside for a day.

4. Go camping.

Nothing says summer like S'mores over an open fire and a night under the open sky. Load up the kids/friends/pets and head for the woods. Leave the laptop at home and connect with nature. Time with the

great outdoors can be refreshing.

5. Volunteer.

Got some extra time on your hands this summer? Then give back to your church/community/favourite cause by volunteering your time to help. Local shelters, soup kitchens, and even animal shelters would love your assistance!

6. Get your festival on.

The summer months are a popular time for community festivals. Whether they celebrate heritage, history, music, or food, they're sure to have something for almost everyone.

7. Plan a picnic.

Grab a basket, some sandwiches, lemonade, and a few friends and head to a shady spot for a meal al fresco. Lounge around into the afternoon playing cards, watching the clouds or just enjoying the warm weather.

8. Go swimming!

Ah, swimming--the favourite pastime of children the world over. Grab your bathing suit and head to your nearest pool, ocean, lake, or stream and brush up on your backstroke. Plus, it's great exercise--no treadmill required!

9. Take some pictures.

The summer sky is a great backdrop for budding photographers. Take pictures of flowers in bloom, your friends, a sunset, or whatever grabs your attention. Play around with different settings to discover a style that works for you.

10. Stargaze.

Bring someone special along and look for falling stars, satellites, m

eteor showers, and even other planets. Bring along a constellation book and a flashlight and see who can spot the most in the night sky.

I ne'er was struck before that hour
With love so sudden and so sweet.
Her face it bloomed like a sweet flower
And stole my heart away complete.

My face turned pale, a deadly pale.
My legs refused to walk away,
And when she looked what could I ail
My life and all seemed turned to clay.

And then my blood rushed to my face
And took my eyesight quite away.
The trees and bushes round the place
Seemed midnight at noonday.

I could not see a single thing,
Words from my eyes did start.
They spoke as chords do from the string,
And blood burnt round my heart.

Are flowers the winter's choice
Is love's bed always snow
She seemed to hear my silent voice
Not love appeals to know.

I never saw so sweet a face
As that I stood before.
My heart has left its dwelling place
And can return no more.

"As A Perfume"

As a perfume doth remain
In the folds where it hath lain,
So the thought of you, remaining
Deeply folded in my brain,
Will not leave me: all things leave me:
You remain.

Other thoughts may come and go,
Other moments I may know
That shall waft me, in their going,
As a breath blown to and fro,
Fragrant memories: fragrant memories
Come and go.

Only thoughts of you remain
In my heart where they have lain,
Perfumed thoughts of you, remaining,
A hid sweetness, in my brain.
Others leave me: all things leave me:
You remain.

Early Preparations for Christmas

You can almost taste December in the air and with it comes the holidays–the busiest days of the year. Are you ready for it? Avoid the holiday rush by making early preparations. That way you can be ahead and ensure that your Christmas goes just as you planned.

Save up. As early as now and ideally even earlier, you should have started saving up for your gifts. The earlier you start saving, the bigger your budget will be.

Plan your Christmas Dinner menu. Buy now while you can still move freely with your cart. Make sure you have your list of ingredients with you for faster shopping.

Buy your gifts at least two weeks early, so you can have enough time to wrap them. It’s also a good idea to mark your calendar when you should send out your cards. No late cards this year. Some even buy a month early or earlier. That surely keeps you clear off the rush.

Hosting a party? Start making your party plans now. You have to make a checklist of everything you’ll need. You’ll have to set the time, send invites, shop, and make phone calls.

If you’re going out of town for Christmas, book now. To get the lowest rates, you have to book as early as you can. Tonight at dinner, finalize your plans with the whole family so you can book first thing tomorrow morning.

Organize an outreach. You can also celebrate Christmas with strangers, especially the less fortunate ones. Invite friends to join your outreach by donating clothes and food to charity.

Buy a tree and spend your free time decorating it. Let it relieve your stress.

Learn how to make eggnog. Surprise your guests by making your own version of the famous holiday treat.

And lastly, forget about work. Christmas is your longest quality time with your loved ones so avoid talking about work when you can.

EYE CARE

*Eight practical ways to play it safe with your pretty peepers*

1.) Have your eyes checked by a reputable ophthalmologist or optometrist every year. You should never self - diagnose or self - prescribe --- your eyes are too fragile to tamper with or entrust to just anyone. Also, have an examination done by the specialists as soon as possible if you notice that something's wrong with your vision or the eye itself.

2.) Practice personal hygiene when handling your eyes --- wash and disinfect your hands before touching them. You wouldn't want to end up catching sore eyes now, would you? =) *Always perform handwashing.

3.) Don't use products that might agitate the your eyes. Be careful with anything you use on your eyes like makeup (mascara, eye shadow) and medicine (eye drops and ointment). Check their ingredients and expiry dates to prevent allergic reactions.

4.) When something gets into your eye, immediately wash the irritant out with clean water. If the itchiness or swelling persists, consult your doctor. Don't rub!

5.) Keep sharp objects away from your eyes! Many injuries involving the eyes resulted to the loss of one or both. Be very careful.

6.) Develop good reading habits; don't read in the dark, while lying down or inside a moving vehicle.

7.) Avoid eyestrain: don't stare at bright objects like the sun or halogen headlights. Also, avoid the glare of the TV or the computer screen; keep at least a five foot distance from the tube.

8.) Shades (and a baseball cap, if worn properly) are not only for "porma" --- they protect your eyes from the harmful UV rays.

FACE SHAPES

The thumb rule for any good hairstyle to suit you is that it should highlight your face shape. In order to get a hairstyle to accentuate your perfect facial features, you need to get a hair cut according to the shape of your face.

Types of Face Shapes

Oval - Considered to be one of the best face shapes, an oval face shape is supposed to carry off any hairstyle with style. An oval face shape is such that the cheekbones are slightly wider that the forehead and the chin. If you have an oval shape, you can practically carry off any hairstyle - long, short, medium, straight, curly, etc.

Round - A round face does not have sharp angles and is characterized by wide cheeks and softer edges or corners near the jaw-line as well as the forehead. For a round face, the trick is to add length and make it look a bit longer than what it is. A hairstyle or cut that is layered maximum at the top and narrows down as it tapers down is best suited for a round face.

Triangle - A face shaped like a triangle has a narrow forehead and wide jaw-line. Sometimes, the cheeks and cheekbones are also wider than the forehead. For such a face, short and voluminous hairstyles are the best bet. A triangle face shape will be balanced with lot of curls on the top and a short length hair cut.

Inverted Triangle - The opposite of a triangle, an inverted triangle face shape is characterized by a wide forehead and narrow cheeks, jaw bones and chin. For such a face, the best hairstyle would be the one in which the fringes rest on the forehead and a blunt cut finishes just below the chin.

Square - The square shaped face is dominated by a wide forehead and wide jaw-line. A face that has a square or sometimes a rectangular shape will look best with a hairstyle that adds volume at the top and lesser volume as it tapers down on the sides.

How to find Your Face-Shape
*Stand in front of the bathroom mirror and make sure the surroundings are well-lit.
*Tie your hair back in a tight pony tail with a secure rubber band. You may also make a tight bun if you want and wear a sweat band just above your hairline to highlight your face.
*Now, take a bar of soap and carefully outline your face on the mirror. Don’t shake and stand absolutely still, while slowly making an outline of your face on the mirror.
*Now, look at the outline you have drawn and try to compare it with the above mentioned face shapes. You will find the shape of your face with ease and decide which hairstyle would suit you the best.

BEST SWIMWEAR FOR YOU!

Teenage girls are particularly concerned about their body image.

Here are some tips for all the girls out there:

If you have very little waist, wear a two piece bathing suit that features piping or princess seams. These additions to a suit break up the body in a good way and bring about the appearance of a horizontal line. The waist is highlighted and defined which is what you want. Choose a top that has wide shoulder straps because these types of straps have more support and are more balanced looking.

For those whose stomach isn't quite flat the tankini is a good option. The tankini looks like a tank top with shorts, and you should wear one that allows the top half to end right where the bottom half begins. This will allow you to hide your stomach, and really give you a great deal more self confidence and comfort while enjoying a day in the sun!

If your thighs already tend to be a little heavy, be sure to choose a suit that has the legs cut a bit higher. The higher cut of the suit will help to give the impression of slimness and elongates the body. A suit that has just a tight elastic band at the top of the thigh area will make the thighs look bulkier. A pretty sarong or a cover-up go with the two piece suit goes far to minimizing the thick appearance of your thighs as well.

If your bottom is fuller, wear a swimsuit bottom in a dark color with a patterned top as this will serve to make people who look at you want to look up and away from your bottom half. It is a trick of the eyes that works. Do not wear a bottom that draws unwanted attention to this part of your body. Any detailing in the hip area of the suit is not welcome, such as ruffles, draping or any patterns.

ENJOY YOUR SUMMER!
